PASS is seeking a highly skilled Software and System Test Engineer with experience in the medical device industry.

The position is offered for full-time, work locations are based in the greater Zurich area.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, develop, execute and document test plans and scripts to verify software and system functionality
  • Triage and track defects found during SDLC
  • Integrate, configure and maintain test systems and software test tools
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the product life cycle
  • Communicate testing progress, test results and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
  • Analyze QA reports in order to discover and report defects, bugs and other issues

Desired Skills & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and 2 years of experience in software quality assurance or Masters Degree (depending on the seniority level)
  • Min. 2 years experience in the medical device industry
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team
  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision

PASS is offering an interesting and challenging temporary assignment for a highly skilled Hardware / System Test Team Leader with experience in the medical device industry.

The position is offered from 1.11.2012 until 31.07.2013, work locations are based in the greater Zürich area.

Essential Functions

  • Managing/leading a team of 6 Hardware / System Test Engineers for system and liquid handling tests and informal system test against key product parameters
  • Definition of planning and execution methods of test activities to verify hardware and system functionality
  • Definition of test criteria, development of test specifications in all project phases by taking all boundary conditions into account (product risks, market risks, reliability, laws, norms, economy, etc)
  • Definition and creation of all required documentation (planning, plans, reports, traceability, etc)
  • Creation and implementation of measures in cause of requirement deviations
  • Assembly, operation and maintenance of test systems
  • Management and responsibility of the day to day activities in terms of quality of work of the team, task tracking, monitoring and reporting to the program management, team administration
  • Working according to the customers processes and guidelines throughout the development process
  • Responsible for trainings of the team members
  • Working in project assignments for our customers, premium manufacturers of medical and analytical devices and lab automation equipment
  • Perform product testing assignments of a new developed medical device for use in clinical laboratories
  • Following generally accepted guidelines and technical approaches, performing complex tasks in the testing of a new product including functional testing against design specifications
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the product life cycle
  • Communicate testing progress, test results and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management

 Desired Skills & Experience

  • BS degree in an engineering (EE, ME, CS, CE) or biotechnology related discipline (chemistry, biology, etc.) or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience
  • Good knowledge of the laboratory environment
  • Very good PC knowledge, proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel
  • Experience in the medical technology field and the complied standards
  • Experience in the robotics and automation field, hardware and software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably as well in German
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team

The position is offered from 1.10.2012 until 31.07.2013, work locations are based in the greater Zürich area.

Essential Functions

  • Managing/leading a team of 5 Integration Testers/Smoke Testers for system integration tests, black-box system testing and informal system test against feature set
  • Support of the product development with integration, system engineering, test, documentation and adaptation of new products throughout the whole product development process
  • Leading of the daily standup meeting, including responsibility for meeting journal and meeting minutes
  • Definition of planning and execution methods of integration activities for hardware and software within development projects
  • Definition of test criteria, development of test specifications in all project phases by taking all boundary conditions into account (product risks, market risks, reliability, laws, norms, economy, etc)
  • Definition and creation of all required documentation (planning, plans, reports, traceability, etc)
  • Creation and implementation of measures in cause of requirement deviations
  • Provide detailed feedback and partial root cause analysis on software and hardware issues found on daily builds, summary of test results
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the product life cycle

• Documents assignments, test procedures and results in conformance with PASS, ISO and FDA standards
